ECD/CHMT 2025 Technical Short Courses in Cryogenics
Practical Learning for Researchers and Professionals

We’re pleased to offer two complementary technical short courses in cryogenics, designed to provide practical, hands-on learning experiences. These courses are ideal for students, researchers, and professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of cryogenic systems, heat transfer, and measurement techniques.

Course 1: Cryogenic Heat Transfer – Bootcamp on Numerical Modeling

This fast-paced, hands-on course introduces participants to the essentials of heat transfer in cryogenic systems and guides them through the process of building practical numerical models using COMSOL Multiphysics. Participants Will Learn:

  • COMSOL Multiphysics for Cryogenics
  • Conduction Modeling
  • Convective Heat Transfer
  • Radiation in Cryogenics
  • Advanced Topics

Course 2: Hands-On Cryogenic Systems and Measurements

A fully practical course that provides direct exposure to cryogenic equipment, flow systems, superconductors, and cryostat design.

  • Demonstration 1: Flow and Thermal Measurements
  • Demonstration 2: Resistance vs. Temperature
  • Demonstration 3: Superconductors and Their Applications
  • Demonstration 4: Levitation
  • Demonstration 5: Critical Current Measurement
  • Demonstration 6: Cryostat Design

Registration to the ECD/CHMT 2025 workshop is mandatory to join these courses. After registration and fee payment, please indicate your interest in joining the course by writing an email to registration@ecd-chmt.com, indicating your choice of course. Note that due to limited capacity, registration to the courses will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Lunch and coffee will be served during the day.
