We are a small company with an interest in the application of cryogenics primarily within the marine sector.  The broad rationale for our approach is the close coupling of energy intensive processes with renewable sources that could reduce land use while also providing a sheltered environment for marine life and facilitate global trade.  We are currently developing project FLO-RA, FLOating-Refuelling Ark that may eventually lead to a FLOating-bioReActor.  The concept is currently focussed on submerged  storage for refrigerant-capable fluids in maritime environments. Its relevance to cryogenics lies in the progression from established refrigeration systems toward architectures that could ultimately inform cryogenic storage and handling. Ammonia is a useful starting point because it provides a demanding but practical test case for containment, thermal management, sensing, and safety before moving toward lower-temperature and more complex cryogenic systems. In this sense, FLORA is a feasibility-led bridge between refrigeration engineering and future maritime cryogenic infrastructure.
