Book Promotion 'Helium' by John A Taylor

July 2022

John Taylor has published a book on Helium – Helium: Its Creation, Discovery, History, Production, Properties and Uses – which is now available on Amazon.

John began his career as a flight test engineer in the UK, working on the vertical take-off and landing Harrier “jump-jet” fighter. An assignment in the United States on the Harrier II/AV-8B flight test program led to his immigration to the US.

Joining the US Naval Airship Program in 1986, he conducted research, monitored design activity and prepared for the flight testing of the YEZ-2A airship. In his airship work, he often flew beneath as much as 7000 cubic meters (a quarter million cubic feet) of helium, and became involved with its logistics, characteristics and safety issues. This led to a fascination with all aspects of this unique element, and eventually to six years of part-time research and writing that led to his second book, Helium: Its Creation, Discovery, History, Production, Properties and Uses.

The book is divided into six sections, covering, creation and distribution, discovery and history, production, properties, uses and conservation and Helium-3.
